1) LAN

LAN(Local Area Network) is a limited area network. A local area network connect the devices in a limited area or devices in a single physical location like office, home or small buildings. A LAN use wires, switches, routers to connect devices to each other to communicate.

2) WAN

WAN(Wide area Network) is a large network, which includes too many LANs. Actually a WAN is a network of networks. You can say that, the devices in your home which are connected with a single router are a LAN, but you know your home router is connected with Internet and many other people, companies, schools & organizations routers also connected with internet. These too many LANs are connected with a WAN(internet). Internet is one of the biggest WAN(wide Area Network).

3) MAN

MAN(Metropolitan Area Network) is network of an organization, The range of metropolitan area can be a city, state or region. Suppose a company have 3 branches and company wants all branches devices to communicate which each other. In this case company generated network will be MAN(Metropolitan Area Network).

4) PAN

PAN(Personal Area Network) is an individual person network or workspace, In PAN a person can interconnect and communicate his devices to each other. Suppose a person have computer, printer, mobile and Laptop, in this case this person can connect these devices with each other using wire or bluetooth to communicate, this small network called PAN(personal Area Network).
